Job Title: Head of Scripting – Experience: 6+ Years

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of scripting to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving our existing data extraction/web scraping tools and workflow in addition to managing a group of well experienced scripters/software engineers. You will also focus on identifying and fixing scraping-related issues and scaling the scrapers to shop huge volumes of data ensuring high-quality standards are maintained and the projects meet their deadlines.
Requirements
Mnimum of 5+ years of experience working with crawling systems/frameworks.
Proficiency in Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, Selenium, Captcha solving technologies, Scraping data from anti-bot sites, Headless browsers, and Puppeteer.
Solid understanding of Web Development technologies (HTTP, REST API, GraphQL, etc.).
Solid understanding of Python.
Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XPath, JSON, etc.).
Familiarity with data processing Regex.
Solid understanding of GIT.
Solid understanding of proxies and proxy management.
Previous leadership or management experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualification Criteria and Responsibilities
Any degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
Improve the existing data extraction/web scraping tools and workflow.
Identify and fix scraping-related issues.
Lead and manage a team of scriptwriters, ensuring they meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to scriptwriters, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure scripts are in line with overall project goals.
Implement quality control measures to maintain consistency and excellence in scriptwriting.
Encourage a culture of creativity and experimentation within the scripting team.
Develop project timelines and schedules for script development, ensuring on-time delivery.
Collaborate with project managers to integrate scripting milestones into the overall project plan.
Foster a learning culture to enhance the skills and capabilities of the scripting team.
